How LeaseReady works — and what we are not

This page explains exactly what LeaseReady does on your behalf, what it does not do, and how you stay in control at every step.

1. What LeaseReady actually does

You find the apartment. LeaseReady helps you understand where your application stands, what is missing, and what needs to happen next. Software supports the work; it does not replace renter control or human review.

2. What LeaseReady does not do

• We do not find or show apartments. You search StreetEasy (or any other platform) yourself. We import listings from what you find.
• We do not collect rent or handle money on your behalf. No security deposit flows through us. No rent payment. No escrow.
• We do not represent you or anyone else in a transaction. We are not a party to your lease. We have no legal authority to negotiate on your behalf.
• We do not guarantee any outcome. Approval is the landlord's decision. Better preparation improves your odds — it does not determine the result.
• We do not send any message without your approval. Every outreach draft requires your explicit "approve" action in the LeaseReady interface. There is no autonomous sending.
• We do not verify listing availability. We treat what brokers post on StreetEasy as unverified until the broker or building confirms the unit is still on the market.

3. You control every communication

The approval requirement is not a technicality. It is the foundation of the service. The communication flow is:

1. You choose the listing and the action you want to take.
2. LeaseReady prepares a draft using your approved profile facts.
3. You review the recipient, subject, body, and supporting details.
4. You approve, edit, or reject the message.
5. Only an approved message can be submitted or sent.
6. You can pause all outreach at any time.

The product can help record submission receipts and monitor connected inbox threads, but those tools support the readiness sprint rather than define it.

4. What happens to your documents

Your uploaded documents are stored privately and never shared without your action. Specifically:

• They are stored in a private, access-controlled bucket. Access is limited to you and authorized LeaseReady operations needed to provide the pilot.
• They may be used to assess packet completeness and identify missing or stale information.
• We do not send your raw documents to brokers automatically. If a broker asks for a packet, that is a separate step you control.
• You can delete any document at any time from your dashboard. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

5. What this costs

Initial onboarding and the current limited NYC readiness pilot are free while we validate the service with active movers. No credit card is required.

If LeaseReady later offers paid work, the scope and price will be explained before work begins. We do not charge a success fee or take a percentage of rent.

6. Who is behind this
